'UNSAID WORDS'
The story begins with two friends, Abhi and Arvi. They were close companions, bound by a friendship that many admired. Deep in her heart, Arvi had always harbored feelings for Abhi, but the fear of losing their precious bond kept her from confessing. Abhi, on the other hand, was the protective and caring friend who had always been there for Arvi, helping her become a better version of herself. He was mature yet had a childlike innocence that made their friendship unique.
One evening, as Arvi was getting ready for an event, Abhi called her. His voice was filled with urgency as he said, "I need to meet you. It's important, something special." Surprised, Arvi asked, "What happened? I'm getting late for a function; can it wait until tomorrow?" But Abhi insisted, "No, I need to tell you today. I'm in love, and I'll go crazy if I don't share it with you."
Hearing this, Arvi felt a surge of hope. Could this be the moment she had been waiting for? Maybe Abhi was finally going to confess his feelings to her. With a heart full of anticipation, she decided to skip the function and went to meet him.
When they met, Abhi seemed troubled. Arvi, worried, asked, "What's wrong? Why do you look so upset?" Abhi hesitated but then spoke, "I'm afraid of losing the people I love." Arvi pressed further, "What is it, Abhi? Why did you call me here?" Gathering his courage, Abhi finally said, "There's this girl I've known for a long time. I really like her, but I don't know how to tell her how I feel. I need your help."
Arvi felt a wave of disappointment crash over her. She had been so sure that Abhi had called her to confess his love for her, but now she realized he was talking about someone else. Despite the heartbreak, she composed herself and decided to help him. "You should meet her and be honest about your feelings. Maybe give her a small gift and tell her how much she means to you," she suggested.
Abhi was grateful and quickly left to follow her advice. That night, Arvi cried herself to sleep. The next day, she couldn’t bring herself to go to college. Abhi waited for her, but she didn’t show up. Worried, he went to her house the following morning to ask why she had been avoiding him. Arvi, still reeling from her emotions, made an excuse about feeling unwell and said she didn’t want to see anyone.
Abhi felt hurt but gave her some space. Days passed, and they finally met again in the college canteen. Abhi asked, "Are you okay? You haven't been talking to me or answering my calls. What's going on?" Arvi dodged the question, instead asking, "Did you propose to her? Did she say yes?"
Abhi sighed, "No, she turned me down. I had prepared so much, but she just refused. Maybe she's not my type after all." Arvi, trying to console him, said, "Perhaps she's not your type because she deserves better. You should be glad she didn’t give you false hope only to break your heart later. At least she was honest with you."
Hearing this, Abhi hugged Arvi. Confused, she asked, "What happened? Is everything okay?" Abhi replied, "You are such a kind person. Even without knowing her, you're speaking in her favor." Arvi smiled and said, "I'm a girl too. I understand that one should not accept love just to keep someone’s heart. It should be true and mutual."
Curious, Abhi asked, "Have you ever been in love?" Arvi hesitated but then answered, "Yes, I have. But he can never be mine."
Abhi frowned, "Why not? Tell me, who is this guy who doesn't see what an amazing person you are?"
Arvi stopped him, saying, "He didn't reject me; I never told him. We are great friends, and maybe that's all we're meant to be. Love is precious, and I respect his choice and feelings."
Abhi looked at her, surprised, "You seem to know a lot about love. I think I might just fall for you someday." He laughed it off, but Arvi smiled and gazed at him quietly.
In that moment, they both realized the depth of their bond. Sometimes, love is not about grand gestures but about understanding and respecting each other.
